Seekers of the Sun
The Condors of Ul'dah have made the city their home - unusual for a tribe of Seekers. But they continue their tribal traditions and heritage, despite resistance from those who don't understand the heart of Seeker tribes.
They carry an esteemed reputation with many in the city of Ul'dah, and are widely known to be honorable, fair, and skilled.
Tribe Lifestyle
The tribe is the most important thing to a tribemember's life. A Seeker is defined by their tribe and they define the tribe. The tribe is family, support, provider, and comfort. The tribe existed before any of the tribemates were even born, and will continue well after we return to the lifestream.
The tribe endures.Tribemates have individual freedom; we are not slaves bound to the tribe house! As long as an individual's actions help the tribe in some way, they can pursue their own interests. Tribemates are equal in the eyes of the tribe, even the leader serves the tribe and owes it loyalty; leadership is an obligation and responsibility. The tribe also allows dissent, but if the tribe decides a course of action, all must accept that.
The tribe does not think with one mind, but it acts with one purpose: the betterment of the tribe.Despite living so close to the city, the tribe follows traditions that make it stronger and self-sufficient. Huntresses still provide food, scouts still guard tribal land, a priestess guides our faith, and healers still tend to our pains. The Nunh leads and provides strong children for the tribe, necessary given the low birth rate of males for the Miqo'te race.
Three Fundamental Rules
These rules cover the basics of how a tribemate should behave within the tribe. Obviously there are situations not covered explicitly in the rules, but these should guide all toward proper behavior.Loyalty to the tribe above all else.
Loyalty ultimately goes to the tribe and not to any individuals. The Nunh can be challenged and replaced, so loyalty must be to the tribe itself rather than to any single tribe member regardless of the position they hold. The tribe includes ancestors and progeny not even born yet. Every member should want the best for the tribe as a whole, not for themselves or even for the leaders.Help the tribe as you can, and let the tribe help you as you need.
The tribe is what supports us, which means all tribemates must support each other and allow the tribe to help them. The second part is as important as the first, as a weakened member who does not accept help can hinder or endanger the tribe. The only male the tribe women can only be with is the Nunh of the tribe.
By tradition, the Nunh is the strongest and breeds the strongest kits best able to survive the harsh environments tribes usually live in. Having kits with weaker members or outsiders can burden the tribe who have to care for children less able to survive.

Roleplaying Hooks
• The Condors are the most notable tribe in Ul'dah. If you're looking for Seekers in the city, you'll likely be pointed toward their house in the Goblet.
(The Goblet, Ward 17 Plot 49)• Likewise, the house is a sanctuary for people friendly to the tribe, particularly other tribal Seekers. Guest rooms and hospitality are provided, usually for no charge, for those seeking shelter.• A few members have ties to the Immortal Flames; T'arl was a notable Captain with the Diplomatic Corps and T'lyhi is a Summoner in the special force.• The tribe has contacts and alliances with other Seeker tribes and Keeper clans.• The house has a magnificent library full of rare tomes with a focus on Arcanistry with some on other aether-manipulation disciplines. The library is curated by T'mhalawi ("Hal").• T'lahmui, the tribe priestess to Azeyma maintains a sacred temple to the Goddess outside of the Goblet. She can often be found tending to the shrine and surrounding landscape.• The Condor Metalworks operate from inside the house. The tribe has capable machinists able to work on Magitek items if the price is right.• Huntresses in the tribe often trade fresh meats and quality hides within the Ul'dah markets. They have been known to take special requests on occasion.• Craftsmen in the tribe are likewise often trading high-quality, handmade goods. They are known to occasionally take commissions for outsiders too.• T'ohku and T'oya are the writers of The Hunter's Handbook, the most detailed guide available on hunting and surviving dangerous monsters. It also contains extensive research on Eorzean toxicology.• The Condor tribe is a capable group of fighters and scouts, especially suited to the less civilized areas of Thanalan. They've been hired to help with many missions in the sands of the Sagolii.Got an idea? Don't hesitate to approach us! We love working with other people!
Tribe History
The PastThe Condor Tribe was a nomadic tribe in the high desert of the Sagolii. The tribe traveled to avoid the migration patterns of the sandworms common in the area. Tribe tradition is that the Nunh leads the tribe, setting a direction for the tribe when many voices might pull in too many directions. The tribe survived on the sands, isolated from other tribes. But the sandworms unnaturally grew more numerous and aggressive, nearly decimating the tribe. When T'fhos Nunh fell, it fell to the remaining two Tias to take his place. T'arl, the younger Tia with more potential, took the position despite having little interest in it. But he was earnest in his desire to serve the tribe.T'arl was sent to Ul'dah to train at the gladiators' guild to build his strength. While there he learned the ways of the city and decided to relocate the tribe from their ancestral lands to Ul'dah. By their self-sufficiency, they were able to amass money to purchase land and build a house, becoming a rare Seeker tribe living in the city. The PresentThe tribe has established itself as a part of the Ul'dahn landscape. Several tribe members hold positions within the Immortal Flames Grand Company, and a Temple of the Sun dedicated to Azeyma graces the Goblet as well.
The Condors are known to freely provide shelter and refuge for Seekers of any tribe (or even tribeless) at their house. The Condors have also made strong alliances with other groups including the League, the Antelope Tribe and the Sapria Keeper clan.
The isolation of the tribe in the desert has ended, and they have become full members of the wider Eorzean community.
OOC Information
The tribe is a RP group on the Mateus server of the Crystal data center in Final Fantasy XIV. The tribe was founded in November of 2017 as a linkshell before we acquired a free company.
Our fundamental principles of RP are built on consent and respect. We give respect to others and expect others to reciprocate. We also only participate in RP with others in ways that everyone agrees to. If something makes you uncomfortable, we can change or excuse you from the scene. There are stereotypes of Seeker tribes as being focused on sex; the lore has the Nunh as the breeder, but that doesn't mean that's the only thing the Nunh does, nor the only thing the tribe does! T'arl himself is a reluctant Nunh, serving his tribe out of loyalty to the tribe and doing his part as the strongest of the Tias. We like to roleplay many different aspects of the tribe; our focus is on slice-of-life RP along with a good amount of adventure RP.
We love to RP with other groups! We've made allies with many people and groups, including sky pirates, Keeper clans, mercenary companies, and other tribes. Contact someone with the <CT-RP> tag to arrange RP. Just keep in mind that most of the tribe is loyal to the tribe first and foremost. Romantic relationships with outsiders is a touchy topic ICly, so communication is important. We have a linkshell for friends of the tribe to help arrange RP, and a Discord server for tribemates and long-term friends.
First Contact
Interested in joining the tribe? Great! We love to have more people interested in the tribe. Here are a few guidelines to think about before diving in.
The Basics
Our fundamental principles of RP are built on consent and respect. We give respect to others and expect others to reciprocate. We also only participate in RP in ways others want. If there is a problem we discuss things like adults.
Restrictions
We are primarily a Seeker of the Sun group. We do have Keepers and half-and-halfs ("Skeepers"), but these are exceptions to the rule and have a story reason for being with the tribe. Other races will be very difficult to bring into the tribe proper without an exceptional story. Not saying it's impossible, but you should impress us with your story ideas. We do have ranks for allies of the tribe if you want to be with the group without joining the tribe. We are not an ERP (Erotic Roleplay) group. You should not come in expecting ERP. We are not prudes and sexuality is part of the tribe, but this is absolutely NOT a focus of the tribe. We also restrict ERP outside the group as we want to avoid the drama this often causes; people assume that Seekers are sex maniacs, and we work hard to avoid this perception. We have little interest in restricting your characters outside the tribe, however. We abide by the IC rules, and exceptions are only made with discussion and a good storyline.Backgrounds for characters from the "original" Condor tribe in the Sagolii is limited. We have an established backstory for the tribe, and introducing random new characters is very difficult. If you'd like to be from the original tribe, coordinate with an officer for a background. We will not tolerate pointless drama. We value our ability and the freedom to be creative with our characters, so we are particularly sensitive to people who cause problems OOCly.
Guidelines
We are alt-friendly! Many characters are alts, and many people want to try out tribal RP. We do require that you participate in the tribe about once per week otherwise you'll be marked as inactive.Membership in the FC is strongly encouraged. We coordinate many things through FC chat, so if you can't see that you'll be out of the loop. We organize a fair number of RP events from casual tea times to epic adventures fighting against forces that threaten Eorzea as a whole. We also have active RP in our Discord for those who can't be on the game.Having a T' name isn't strictly required, but most of the tribe has T' names. Take a look at our FC membership to see the kinds of names we have.
Introduction Scene
If this sounds good to you, then contact an officer we'll prepare an introductory scene with your character. We'll do a scene with you and a few other tribemates to establish the character and make sure RP styles mesh well. We'll ask you three basic questions to understand your character:What is your character like?
What do they do? What is their background? What do they aspire to? What skills do they have?Where does your character come from?
Were they in a tribe? If so, which one and why did they leave? If not, why not?Why do you want to talk to the Condors?
Where did you hear about us? What draws you to this tribe? If this goes well we'll continue the process of getting you into the tribe.
For unusual cases (e.g. non-Seekers wanting to join the tribe) we'll introduce you to other tribemates to see how well you'll fit.As a pledge to the tribe, you'll be expected to give a tribute to the tribe, a show of your skills and what you offer. For example, a huntress might bring in a hunt for the tribe to show her skill. You'll then undergo some spiritual trials as our totem judges you. This shouldn't cause any worry! The process should be fun and the source of some good RP, establishing your character in the tribe.Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
